Texas A&M University Police

The Texas A&M University at Galveston Police Department currently has 7 sworn officers with 1 civilian clerk and several part-time student workers serving a community of approximately 2500 full-time and part-time students with approximately 500 staff and faculty. As an institution specializing in Engineering and Maritime education, with our own Maritime Training Ship, we are always looking for ways to increase our level of technology to compensate for our small staff, while remaining within our limited budget.

In 2003 we were looking for a grant to improve our report writing and records management software, with special attention to racial profiling record keeping. We looked at several software companies and types of software, everything from simple ticket-writing software on handheld pda's to full-blown records management systems that did everything a Major Metropolitan Agency would need. We chose CrimeSoft software because it is a very powerful records management system that allowed us to stay within our budget with the most "bang for the buck".

We have been using CrimeSoft for a little over a year now, and we are still finding features that we can use to make our system work better. All of our officers have found it easy to use and are becoming more proficient everyday.

The search feature is so powerful and simple to use. It has saved us many man-hours, compared to our old system.

I would recommend CrimeSoft to any agency looking for a powerful yet reasonably priced Records Management System for Law Enforcement.
